IF SIZE DOESN'T MATTER...

I’ll equip my new home with everything that I fancy!  But sadly, that’s not possible because houses are indeed getting smaller. There’s barely space for you to move around the kitchen, not to mention that tiny bedroom.

Having experienced the frustration of rampaging through my storeroom, unpacking and repacking all the items, just to find that extra space for my new 21-inch luggage, I have decided to do some research on storage solution for small house.

Here are some tips that I’ve found useful.

Make use of wall space
  • Have really high wall shelves from the ceiling to the floor. Make use of the higher shelving to store items that you use less frequent.
  • Forget about hanging a painting. Use modern shelves as part of your wall feature. Every inch counts.
  • Receding shelving in bedrooms to hold the books and smaller items such as keys, mails etc.

Consider multi-functions furniture
  • Hide all the bed sheets and winter wear under your bed or the sofa seats.
  • In small space, coffee table is a luxury but not if it serves more than just putting a cup of coffee. How about one that can store your kids’ lego?

Rethink the bathroom
  • Make full use of the space under the vanity area. You can store toilet papers or toiletries underneath.
  • Having high wall shelves helps create lots of storage space. It can be a potential space for you to store towels and handy tools.

Revamp your wardrobe – literally
  • Partition your wardrobe into different sections helps you to save space.
  • Add hooks to the cabinet doors—bigger loop to hold belts and smaller ones for your sling bags.
  • Use thin wired-hangers.

Last but not least, throw away stuffs that you won’t be even touching in the next three months. If you are looking to free up more spaces in your house, contact us for some practical yet modern ideas.
